Today you finished the “L” in the KWL worksheet and created a calendar and plan for your work this week. You are working this entire week on the group project. The projects are due on Tuesday, no exceptions. We will begin our presentations then.

AP – 10/26/09 -10/30/09

Today we began going over the quarter exam. We are going to continue with this tomorrow.

Tuesday

We discussed tone today and I explained that the starred words will be on the Tone Word Test which is Wednesday, November 18th.

Wednesday

Today we worked on a brainstorm for your papers.

Key Features of Definitional Arguments
**Your argument is likely to include these parts
-A claim involving a question of definition
-a general definition of some key concept
-an examination of your claim based on the general definition
-evidence for every part of your argument, including visual If appropriate
-a consideration of alternative views
-a conclusion, drawing out the implications of the argument

Pre-Writing for today:
1. For each of these features, create a question or statement that you might be able to answer or use in your paper.

Thursday

We wrote an AP prompt on connotation today.

Friday

Today we did more tone work. Chapter 10 vocab due Friday.
