We reviewed for the quarter exam. The quarter exam will be 30 questions based on two passages. You will have the entire period to complete the exam. The questions will cover the rhetorical vocabulary and strategies we have discussed this quarter.
On Wednesday I explained the next formal paper for this class. You will be writing an extended definition paper on a term or concept of your choice. See me for the assignment sheet. For next Wednesday you need to have 3 sentences: A formal definition, operational definition, and definition by exmaple for your word.

Homework: Read Faulkner’s Nobel Prize Acceptance Speech and write a short reflection discussing at least two aspects of the rhetorical web that you saw at work in Faulkner’s speech.

Homework for tomorrow: Find a text – verbal or visual – and answer the three rhetorical questions about this this text. If you can, bring a copy of this text in tomorrow.
